I’m also half bengali and for a long time I was agnostic and had little to no connection to Islam, celebrated Christmas, Eid was just some holiday to me like Christmas but eventually you come to a point in your life where you have to take the search for meaning seriously. No judgement from me I’ve been there, only unsolicited advice from me is keep an open mind, read everything and do yourself the favour of gaining a broader understanding of the world religions Islam included. Before I converted formally to Islam I went to Churches, Buddhist Temples, Hindu Temples, read the Gita, parts of the Pali Cannon and some Mahayana Sutras, etc. Then I read Muslim intellectuals like Al-Ghazali, Ibn Sina, and so on. Rationally convincing to me. I wish you luck and wisdom from one mixed bengali dude to another. God bless.

My grandad was Bangladeshi and grandma was Christian but we followed Islam and grandma died two months ago as Muslim alhamdulillah

I’ve always wondered what happened to the descendants of the first Muslims who came to Britain. Most eventually lost their Islam. As a second-generation Muslim raising children here, it makes you wonder what happens to our descendants in a few generations. I think we already know the answer.
