when insurance costs got high we started contributing more to keep our employees costs the same. I also started offering a high deductible ($2500) to my employees with $0 premiums out of their pocket with an hsa available alongside a low deductible ($300) that was $90 per month for the employee or $600 for a family.

This hits so hard. At our quarterly meetings all we hear about is how we are hitting record revenue numbers, yet this year they dropped our group health insurance and told us to buy our own policy off the marketplace and they would give us a flat $X per pay period to cover a portion of the cost. 😤

We had record profits last year but even after getting an overall 93% on my performance review, I didn’t get a raise because I “took too many days off”- usually after working four days of 10-12 hours straight on a deadline push and already getting my obligatory 40 hours in to get the project out the door- and taking the Friday off after the thing shipped out. I’ve stopped going above and beyond now. F them.
