i learn russian using my native language, cuz they're both slavic languages. i learn german using english, cuz it's closer. work smarter not harder 🧑🩰

I am Russian. I know English. Duolingo lets me learn Vietnamese only in English, but the grammar on Vietnamese looks like Russian.

Already forced to because practically all language resources are in English. And my native language is Swedish so even if there’s courses available in other languages in addition to English 90% of the time my language is not supported. (It’s kinda frustrating because when I study Spanish they translate tu and vosotros as “you” and I get confused but if I was learning from Swedish it would be tu, usted=du vosotros=ni)

german is my 1st, english is my 2nd and i‘m fluent so i learn japanese in english 😭 it just makes sense to learn languages in english when the most resources (books, anki decks, videos explaining grammar n stuff) are in english
