Brake FULLY immediately — maximum braking. Keep looking toward the left side of the road. From the picture, the left side appears to have more escape space than the right, which is occupied by the truck/cab and roadside. If the left shoulder/space is genuinely clear, steer firmly toward it while braking. Do not swerve blindly if there is a ditch, tree, person, or another vehicle there. If there is no safe escape route, stay on the brakes and keep the car controlled rather than making a violent maneuver
