New Hanover County is proposing changes to the UDO that would formally define “Contractor Laydown Yard” and add specific use permissions for it. Their own amendment says the change is intended to provide a clear place for a use currently embedded under “Contractors Office.” The proposed definition includes temporary or long-term outdoor storage of construction materials, equipment, machinery and vehicles, along with loading, unloading and equipment staging.
