@sixfigurecaregiver: Before you accept a private-pay case, CHECK THE CLIENT’S ENVIRONMENT. Is there clutter in the walkway? Loose rugs? Poor lighting? Unsafe stairs? Does the client have the equipment they need? Don’t ignore safety issues just because “that’s how the family has always done it.” If something happens to that client while you’re on shift, people are going to ask what happened and what you did to prevent it.
