Her character is honestly both sad and refreshing, in my opinion. Like, you get to see her softer side, but she has to make the impossible decision in the end and it probably makes a lot of people dislike her more than she deserves. But also, she's a female character who does make that hard decision and doesn't go soft/seem soft and regretful like a lot of books might have her be because even the tough female leader has to be soft and empathetic.
