@crimenightly: 📍 United States 🇺🇸 A routine traffic stop quickly turned into a much more serious encounter after officers noticed what appeared to be marijuana inside the vehicle. The stop began when officers pulled the vehicle over for failing to make a complete stop at a stop sign. During the interaction, the officers asked the occupants about firearms and noticed what appeared to be a blunt inside the car. The occupants admitted they had smoked marijuana about 25 minutes earlier. Officers then asked everyone to step out of the vehicle while they conducted a weapons check and a probable-cause search of the car. As the investigation continued, one of the occupants revealed that he had recently been released from prison. Officers detained everyone while waiting for another unit and continued investigating the situation. The officers eventually read the suspect his Miranda rights and asked whether he understood them and was willing to speak with them about what had happened. What started as a simple traffic violation quickly turned into a much more serious police investigation.
