As a nanny, as long as you are paying your nanny fairly and offering her stability in her job, I’m glad this works for you!💕

People are concerned because what you just described is about $15 per hour, which is drastically underpaying your nanny Unless they are only coming for 4 hours each of those days.

I nanny part time for a SAHM. Her husband wanted her to be able to go to appointments and do errands without the kids. I do 2 days a week

PLEASE AVOID DAYCARES IF YOU CAN!! I worked in them for 16 years and the horror stories would give you literal nightmares teachers are rarely qualified a lot are borderline abusive all are underpaid and overworked and facilities a lot of the time have little to no good sanitization practices or food options for the kids and constantly break ratio, accept clearly sick kids and force teachers to come in sick, and make teachers lie to and hide things from parents. This is me putting it lightly.

that's also nice in the aspect that your nanny comes to your home while you work from home so you don't have to drive to the daycare and back to clock in. your many could literally walk in the door 5 minutes before you clock in. so you're saving gas and things too. I need a work from home job too as a single mom

My coworker & I did a nanny share for a couple of years before my kid went to school & it was so great, + more affordable.

Girl, do what works for you you're a single mom you're doing the best you can do if you even get cheap care and it works out for you and the nanny then good for you. Ignore the Internet people always have something to say like if the nanny didn't like your arrangement, she obviously didn't have to work for you. She obviously is OK with working for you so she's doing it and you do what you need to do Because no one's coming to pay your bills ignore all the annoying people on here

In this country you need to hire your village. I say money well spent. If I ever have kids, instead of toys and such, I am asking for housekeeping, and night nurse services 💜

YEP my mom owns her own business and we had a full-time nanny basically my entire childhood. She was also a single mom! It was GREAT. I don’t think I could ever put my kids in daycare (if I had kids) since I never experienced it growing up. 💀

I’m a nanny and my nanny family pays me far less than they would be paying for afterschool care + day care, and I love my job and love their kids. & you get to have more say in what your child is exposed to. It just makes sense for a lot of parents!

You literally can’t please these people! 😭 Do what works for YOUUU. I was a babysitter when I was in high school and worked about 36 hours a week, and I loved ittt! I didn’t do housework though. However, I plan on getting a nanny for my baby because I really want that 1:1 care. I just feel like in daycares they have so many babies to care for that they can’t always be as attentive. I currently pay for monthly cleanings as well for my own mentallllll. Good job, mama! 🥹🩵

it shouldn't be controversial the amount of money it cost for daycare should! You're using your money wisely! I'm glad you found something that works for you bc motherhood is hard!

My mom used like a service babysitter that functioned the same way. It worked better for her. So having community also helps. It should be about convenience that assists the mom.

1k a month?? what kind of agreement do y'all have if I can ask? I will have two kids in school next year with different pick up times and I have to work from home with at least one kid here for half the day. I spend my whole lunch to pick them up most days and it takes away my exercise time. I would love to have a new system
