Is the Kit Carson story at all sympathetic to the indigenous cause?

I read Adam Higginbotham’s book Midnight In Chernobyl. I have a copy of his book The Challenger but have not read it yet. Both tragedies had so many warnings ignored and mistakes made. I do believe if warnings had been taken seriously both disasters either could have been prevented or possibly not as devastating.

Just finished “Isaac’s Storm” by Erik Larsen. Really good book about the Galveston hurricane of 1900.

Having been around when Jones,Manson, and Bundy committed their horrific crimes I can't say I'd want to read those books, fine as they might be.
Could I suggest "Home" by Bill Bryson - a room by room dissection of an old rectory he lived in with the changes over time in how they were seen and used?
Or "The Bully Pulpit" by Doris Kearns Goodwin - a parallel biography of Theodore Roosevelt and William Howard Taft.
How through a combo of beliefs in Manifest Destiny and racism, the US of A became an interventionist world power.
Very long, chewy reads and listens. And I appreciate the Kit Carson rec. ♥️♥️♥️

The Road To Jonestown was a good book. Jeff Guinn’s book Manson was fascinating. I did have a copy of his book Waco but my cat threw up a hairball in the box it was in and I didn’t know it until weeks later as I was going through the box. The hairball was dried onto the book when I did find it and to clean it off would have damaged the book more. The book had to be thrown out.

Chaos by Tom O’Neil digs deep into the Mason case. He was a journalist when that meant something 😊

Love Ann Rule true crime books. Listened to the Challenger book earlier this and I highly recommend it. Read Helter Skelter decades ago, I’m due for a reread.
