Is Chi and Onyeuwa one and same thing or is there a difference between them? Indeed these are different aspects of a person that function together in alignment. Lets dissect their differences. In Odinani, Chi (Spirit) is the divine spark, breath and spirit of the Divine Source; ChiUkwuOkike(Chi na eke) that flows through the MmouSoChi to a person and is unique to every living being. It is your guardian spirit, force, and destiny architect, often reffered to as the Higher Self . Onye Uwa (Soul) on the other hand is the reincarnated soul which has lived many lifetimes in the earth realm/world. It is the ancient traveler; the consciousness that reincarnates back into this gross plane to continue the cycle of spiritual illumination, lessons and settling karmic debts. • CHI is unique to each and every living being, it is never the same/identical for any two persons or living beings thus the Igbo saying - "Chi awu Otu".
