When I meet people I'm not shy I'm just quiet and cautious. They take it as either shy. ir strange but always quick to call me rude. I'm not obligated to be nice anymore but I'm not rude, just cautious

I probably would question this as well if I didn’t have life experience with it. I had a dad that was very introverted and a mom who is extremely extroverted. My brother is exactly like our mom and I am kind of in between. I usually start off very quiet and reserved in social gatherings, but it’s not just about my dad being introverted. It also has to do with me having anxiety disorder. So maybe this is not a good example I don’t know lol but anyway, I usually warm up and become more like my mom over the course of the evening. And there are times that I don’t and that just may be due to life’s stresses and other situational factors. So I would probably say that it’s hard to put one factual answer on that. I would come to the conclusion that it’s situational, but I do agree with you that some people are probably scoping out this they’re surroundings and are manipulative
