@tancyacambaco: Am I the problem in my relationship? 1. I get too excited when we meet. Maybe I’m not too much; maybe I’m just genuinely happy to see someone I love. 2. I reply too fast. I don’t want to play games or wait hours just to seem less interested. 3. I want exclusivity. I want a relationship where both people genuinely choose each other. 4. I want him excited about my birthday. I want to feel like my special moments matter to the person I love. 5. I want to cuddle for hours. Physical affection is one of the ways I feel connected and loved. 6. I want to tell him all my stories. When I love someone, I naturally want to share my little moments with them. 7. I want to give gifts freely. Sometimes I see something and think of him. I want to give without feeling guilty for caring. 8. I want us to talk every day. Communication makes me feel connected, especially when we are apart. 9. I want clarity. I shouldn’t have to constantly guess what someone feels or where I stand. 10. I want honesty. Even an uncomfortable truth is better than being lied to. 11. I want consistency. I don’t want affection one day and distance the next without explanation. 12. I want to feel chosen. I want someone’s actions to show that they genuinely want me in their life. 13. I want someone excited to see me. I don’t want to feel like my presence is an obligation. 14. I want affection without begging for it. Love should not feel like something I have to negotiate for. 15. I want mutual effort. I don’t want to be the only person planning, initiating and trying. 16. I want emotional security. I want a relationship where I can relax instead of constantly questioning everything. 17. I want someone I can trust. I want to feel safe believing what he tells me. 18. I want someone who feels like my person. Someone I can talk to, laugh with, depend on and share life with. 19. I want to love without measuring myself. I don’t want to constantly wonder if I’m texting too much, caring too much or giving too much. 20. I want to feel loved the way I love. Not necessarily identically, but with enough effort, affection and intention that I don’t feel alone in the relationship. So, am I the problem? Wanting these things doesn’t automatically make me the problem. The real question is whether I’m asking for something unreasonable—or simply asking the wrong person to meet needs that are important to me. Not being the problem means finding someone whose way of loving doesn’t constantly make me feel like I’m “too much.”
