camera needs a flag if it's sticking that far behind the vehicle.

The cop knew who he was. He’s run from the cops before. Reasonable to assume he will again

If he wanted to flee, why would he stop for the police in the first place?

Driving a sports car isn’t a reason to randomly deploy spike strips. Also, if they were a flight risk, they would’ve been gone before he ever got those deployed.

so where in this video did you see that the cop had reasonable belief.

You can use this same logic to justify putting a gun to someone's head btw.

The camera alone gives the cop reasonable belief. argue with the wall

I feel in this situation the cop only did that cuz of the 360 camera and just thought the mustang was going to do something cuz too many idiots with camera on the back of the cars do stupid things

So basically you’re saying they can legally profile you because of your car? I don’t think that’s how it works. Profiling him from the light when he passed him going in the opposite direction then turns around to catch up 🤔🤔🤔 sounds and looks like profiling to me 🤔🤔🤔

My question would be if they deployed a spike strip and a car goes round and runs over it could they sue or no

I dunno, I don't see what the deal is with the spike strips. If the stop was otherwise legal and the officer removed the strips promptly after the stop was over, I fail to see the problem. It doesn't seem different to me than the cops taking a biker's keys for the duration of the stop. It's a way of keeping you from fleeing during the stop which causes absolutely no harm otherwise.

Based on daily released videos on USA cops. It's unlikely that the US cops has a lawful objective reason to do this. Any reasonable person would believe this.

If he thought it was bad enough to need spike strips, he put himself in a massive amount of danger to deploy them by turning his back tot the “dangerous” driver. That he deployed them without a backup unit is proof he didn’t actually reasonably believe it was necessary, he just wanted to flex his authority 👍

nah, that cop instantly profiled him and pulled him over because of the cars appearance. I thought they didn't profile people?

thays an awful lot of "ifs" for which there is no indication kf any of them in the video. if we are just going off the video, then no its not reasonable.

Without seeing the drivers license to determine who they are, how would the officer know if that person was wanted? If the license plate is stolen or flagged, sure… but to argue about the person being wanted…? Without determining who the driver is, that argument shouldn’t be used.
