The AI Bible Guy :
That there is a difference between boldly proclaiming Christ and making a spectacle of yourself in Christ’s name. Some preachers enter stores, restaurants, sidewalks, and other public places howling at the top of their lungs about how much Jesus loves everyone, believing that sheer volume proves boldness. But Scripture says, “The servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient” (2 Timothy 2:24). Paul said, “Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt” (Colossians 4:6), and Peter commanded believers to give an answer “with meekness and fear” (1 Peter 3:15). Even Jesus, though He preached publicly and fearlessly, fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy: “He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets” (Matthew 12:19; Isaiah 42:2). There is a time to “cry aloud, spare not” (Isaiah 58:1), so loud preaching itself is not sinful, but Scripture never makes obnoxiousness, disruption, or theatrical behavior evidence of the Holy Spirit. Paul taught that even truthful speech becomes useless noise when it lacks love: “I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal” (1 Corinthians 13:1), and that worship should be conducted “decently and in order” because “God is not the author of confusion” (1 Corinthians 14:33, 40). Sheep do not need to imitate wolves to announce their Shepherd. Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27), while Scripture repeatedly uses wolves as an image of those who threaten and scatter the flock (Matthew 7:15; Acts 20:29). When preaching becomes more recognizable by the howl of the preacher than by the voice, character, gentleness, truth, and love of Christ, something has gone terribly wrong. The Gospel does not need us to howl like wolves to prove that we are sheep. The sheep hear the Shepherd, follow the Shepherd, and reflect the Shepherd. Amen ✝️✝️✝️
