I genuinely feel people who didn’t like the book got caught up with the narrative and not the larger picture! For me this book really captured how woman can be so judgmental, competitive and longing for something else- whether it’s the career woman longing for motherhood or vice versa. And bottom line: how everything looks better online! It’s a moment to zoom out of the story and think of how this is a time capsule into our modern reality- nobody is who they pretend to be online.

gave me the ick- not a fan. I felt the ending was rushed and very strange

The way Burke made me DESPISE Natalie while also tricking me into celebrating her wins was astounding. I even felt remorse for the woman at the end, like how?

This was such a quick read for me. I think Natalie being so unlikeable is what makes the story and what happens to her so good

Trust me-i wanted to hate this book. I was poised to DNF then finished it in three days. The politics, the games, the psychology of social media. The author calls all of us out.

It was refreshing to read a book where the main character had zero redeeming qualities.

Yes…I had mixed emotions about it. It touches on so many issues…I just wish she would have leaned in harder on some societal norms and issues.

Great book!! A strong statement about our patriarchal society and the indoctrination of some religions
