Hello everyone. I’m going to New York in December and although I have my room reserved (in Times Square 😩) I’m looking for something a bit cheaper. People are telling me to book rooms in Brooklyn. Which hotel did you guys stay at? Any tips are appreciated! Thank you.

As a plus girl I can only speak for myself. But I went week before Christmas and dressed in layers as many said. (I’m from FL btw) and I was HOT! HOT in the subway, hot in the restaurants and hot in the stores. I would walk into a place and damn near be sweating from how warm they keep everything lol just keep that in mind when layering. NYC is cold but not that cold to me. I would say a long sleeve and good coat will be fine. Obviously scarf and gloves. But that added layer was too much for me! Also I wore wool socks and tennis and was fine!

Oh the Saturday thing is so true😳 we did Wednesday to Sunday last year and the crowds were insane on the Saturday . I wish I’d spent more time at the top of the Empire State Building , we kinda rushed through it

We’re going the first long weekend in December form Ky! Staying in Times Square. I am a Christmas FREAK. So I’m sooo excited. We have tickets to rockettes already (Thurs at 8pm) but what’s a good breakdown for us daily? We will be there at like 6am Thursday.

I learnt how to use the subway very quickly in new york, don't even try using Google maps, and don't listen to people's theory about not staying in time square, we stayed in 47th Street which was a 90 second walk straight into the middle of time square and it was magical and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised by people's good behaviour there

google maps does not make it easy and quick😭 you couldn’t go two minutes without hearing someone walk past you cussing it out. just pay attention to the signs and ask for directions, don’t rely on google maps 100%

What time in December did you go I have a trip planned for December 10th through the 14th and I was wanting to know how cold it would probably be I keep getting mixed things when I look it up it will say in early December it’s usually in the 40s and 50s not to bad but then it says last year they had a snow storm and temperatures of 17 lol would you mind sharing the dates you went and what the temperature was like on those days?
