@thepottymouthguru: We've covered a LOT of relationship territory lately, from impact vs. intent and defensiveness to validation, emotional attunement, self-referential patterns, feeling alone inside a relationship, and what changes when neurodivergence is part of the picture. After three weeks away, I want to hand the conversation back to you. What's happening in your relationship that you wish you understood better? What's the pattern you keep getting stuck in? Or the thing that keeps happening that you can feel, but don't quite have language for? Tell me in the comments. I'm going to use your questions to decide where we go next. ❤️🤟🏻🌿 #UNFUCKYOURSELF #THEPOTTYMOUTHGURU #Relationships #RelationshipAdvice #HealthyRelationships

Okay, your turn. 👇🏻 What relationship dynamic do you keep experiencing that you know is happening, but you’ve never quite had the language to explain? Those are the conversations I want to have next. ❤️🤟🏻🌿

What about the trifecta combo? The trigger loop of anxious + avoidant attachment where one’s coping mechanism triggers the other’s fear and their coping mechanism is coupled with a self-referential viewpoint and therefore cannot be acknowledged because they are forever stuck in their own experience and unable to sit in their discomfort long enough to repair? And when intentions are constantly used as the justification whereby the impact of their behavior is completely disregarded, the ONLY method in which I’ve learned to make this make sense is to either use a hypothetical or do the same thing back (I know, not healthy) but it proves to me once and for all that they truly do understand that the behavior is hurtful, but they do not have the capacity to acknowledge it unless they actually experience it and react like a normal human would. At what point do you realize that some people live in a delusional world of “everything I do is ok because I’m a good person with good intentions and I mean no harm?” Even when harm is simply the impact and someone else’s true experience? This self-referential perspective has been mind blowing 🤯 Thank you!

Will you cover capacity? If it can grow or is it pretty much set. Anything about capacity please.

I'm struggling with my partner being tits deep in CPSTD, depression, tons of trauma, ect. I have listened, supported, waited, sacrificed myself, for over 4 years now, but the conversations are always the same responses that come back to how they feel about everything. How can I be heard and validated? When are my struggles just as important as their mental health struggles?

I'm currently navigating being the scapegoat and being accused of financial and emotional abuse (even despite being the one left with massive amounts of debt when she left). All of this on the back of being cheated on, lied to, and being told about important things after the decisions had been made. I remain steadfast in my position of divorce and detachment, but obsessing over my name being dragged all over my local community and my now-former online community, is very difficult to interrupt. Ooooh, maybe the intersectionality of all these things but from an attachment lens? Specifically how emotional neglect trauma creates certain insecure attachment style vulnerabilities that show up in relationship dynamics? So much complexity and nuance that is often oversimplified without taking all of these factors you just mentioned into account!

How do you deal with a sitch where one partner is emotionally unavailable / less available due to poor mental health and the other partner feels left or abandoned as a result, and specifically the partner who feels abandoned cannot acknowledge that the partner who is struggling is not choosing to be unavailable? In other words the partner who felt abandoned takes up all the air space / hurt space such that the partner who is trying to recover their mental health is also feeling abandoned, but that is not allowed to co-exist. Not sure that even makes sense!!

I married a man my side of family didn’t want , so they abandoned me and I moved one and his side of family was never mean to me in anyway , but after 2 decades I feel they’re not mean so I don’t pull away their son / brother from them but they actually don’t like me

Mou says hi :
I am working really hard in communication with my partner but we now have the next problem: she communicates mostly everything on the spot and I rather reflect on it and later raise it. now we are facing the situation that she doesn't have capacity for "my talks" because she says that they feel like a debt and a punishment and I don't have capacity for her raising everything without reflecting due to the huge load of issues. I find both valid, but in the moment hers is the only one "that is valid" and going thru and mine are not happening due to capacity reason so I am also accumulating my issues and not able to open up. how do we get out of it?

My partner got depression and let his emotions leave town. I supported him through it and university. Then I had our baby, and he emotionally abandoned me. Its been a few years and many MANY arguments turned into discussions. I "left" him (I sleep in the basement). He has apparently seen the error of his ways. I would like to believe him. But it also feels like no penance has been paid...? Like if we move forward together he never actualy lives with any consequenses. The worst thing he faced was realising he'd lose me. I dont have to leave the basement (Its actualy a nice set up) but like..... can I forgive him without gaslighting myself....?

logically it must! For a person to speak on something they have never experienced is educational, however the moment a person tries to uses someone else's experience as their own the entire emotional argument is a lie. This can not be trusted as truth because often that individual refuses to hear factual victims experience and tend to shun anything that doesn't meet their expectations. People with sociopathic tendency manipulate the public with fake stories for emotional clout. From what I notice anyways.
