I'm going to assume this came from a good place so I'd like to take a moment to educate. Marketing events does not = party planner. Have done both. Made my career in tech doing one. That's typically what people who don't understand the role and/or are too misogynistic to care refer to it as and it completely undermines the strategy and skills that professionals in that field (predominantly women) require to be successful in it.

Have you met an events marketing manager? They are not parties, they are complex events for marketing/sales presence. There are tons of complex logistics to get all items and people to trade shows.

as someone who pivoted industries from events & hospitality to media & marketing, working in events from planning to execution is super seasonal and dependent on budget. it’s not a stable role, especially within industries like tech, so i would really advise anyone to do proper research and have side hustles in the case that you do pursue roles like this. i personally have a bachelor of science in hospitality with a focus in events, but luckily gained a lot of marketing and social media experience during my undergrad to where i could make it my career now. as a side hustle, i still work in events in relation to brand ambassadors and event ambassadors for seasonal things which is nice :33

Anyone who has been in these spaces in any of the last decades knows how FKING GOD AWFUL MISERABLE the events are and it used to just be the technical dorks that were socially inept - now it's everyone.

I don’t think this is the norm. If anything maybe even a mistake on the listing. However there has been a massive jump in event manager listings. We aren’t party planners. It’s a demand generation lead creation role that impacts sales and customer relationships.roles anthropic might pay more for are looking for more than a logistics background. They want customer relationship building, partner relationships, sponsorship negotiations, and campaign development- plus logistics
