@yumiktv: While Love and Deepspace is already one of the biggest otome games right now, another project has suddenly started getting a lot of attention: Shackles of Elysium (失乐枷锁), a new Chinese otome with a much darker and more intense atmosphere, developed by a studio connected to a Papergames-backed company. And of course… the timing is raising questions. 👀 Papergames is currently facing a major controversy surrounding Love and Deepspace, especially after the cancellation of Valko, which led to backlash, petitions and boycott calls from part of the community. So seeing another otome connected to the Papergames ecosystem being pushed into the spotlight right now naturally makes people wonder: is it simply a coincidence, or could this new reveal also help shift some of the attention away from the current drama? That being said, this game was definitely not created because of the controversy. Shackles of Elysium already received its Chinese publishing licence back in January 2026, months before the Valko situation happened.
