Because a lot of what gets sold as thyroid support has iodine in it, and with autoimmune thyroid disease, excess iodine can make things worse rather than better. That one is not a fringe position. It is in the standard guidance. The second thing is that in menopause this stops being a weight loss problem. Your immune system is already in a fight and estrogen leaving the building does not help. So the work becomes lowering inflammation and getting your body somewhere it stops treating everything as a threat. The third thing is that you deserve real answers instead of a wellness account telling you to cut fourteen foods.
