Over 40 With Nothing Saved for Retirement? See Caption Below 👇 1. Start with what you can afford. Don’t wait until you have $500 or $1,000 a month. Even $100–$300 consistently can help you build the habit. 2. Check your employer retirement benefits. If your job offers a 401(k) match, consider contributing enough to receive the full match. Don’t overlook part of your compensation. 3. Consider opening a Roth IRA. If you’re eligible, a Roth IRA lets your investments potentially grow tax-free, with qualified withdrawals tax-free in retirement. 4. Keep your investments simple. You don’t need to find the next winning stock. A diversified portfolio of low-cost index funds or ETFs can be a simpler long-term approach. 5. Build an emergency fund alongside your investments. Aim for around 3–6 months of essential expenses so an unexpected bill doesn’t force you to sell your investments. 6. Increase your contributions little by little. Every raise or extra source of income is an opportunity to invest more. Even adding another $50–$100 a month can move you forward. 7. Don’t take huge risks just because you feel behind. Trying to “catch up” quickly can lead to expensive mistakes. Focus on a strategy you can realistically stick with. 8. Give your money time. Being over 40 doesn’t mean your opportunity is gone. You may still have decades of investing ahead of you. You don’t need to fix everything today. But you do need to start. Comment “INVEST” and I’ll send you an invite link to my Beginner’s Investing Masterclass!
