I love the pause he does when he turns around because he can’t see through one eye so he didn’t realize he moved yet. Little details like that are awesome

I can’t believe people complain about this version of Odin. He absolutely rules. We have plenty of depictions of him being a strong burly warrior king. I think he works great as basically a salesman. Kratos has faced “toughest there is” plenty enough. Having someone be so clearly afraid of him with such a physical disadvantage makes for some great intrigue.

I love that Sony Santa Monica portrayed Thor as a manic depressive "recovering" alcoholic that's past his prime, and his dad as a passive aggresive, used car salesman. For some reason the dynamic just WORKS

When Odin turns the wrong way you can see the confusion on heimdall’s face. Odin is putting on an act.

Odin can pretty much see anything, I have no doubt he knew Heimdall moved but still looked the wrong way to make himself look 'silly and old' to earn Loki's trust

Heimdall being on the wrong side and Odin having to turn further to see him was such a nice touch.

The performance is so good. He acts like a goofy old uncle (not knowing where heimdall is) to lull Atreus into a false sense of security

i love that instead of making him big and bad they turned him into a sleazy slick talking business man; in a world full of brawlers his only weapon is his tongue, and it just so happens to be the most powerful weapon of them all

One of the most subtly evil things about Odin is that he never calls his sons his sons. Heimdall is his son. Baldur was his son. But he introduces Heimdall as the guy who reads minds for him. He calls Baldur “his best tracker” when confronting Kratos about his death. They aren’t children they are tools

Medic! :
I love this version of Odin. When they say he is a lair and a manipulator, they REALLY mean it. Odin could've sent him inside Asgard's walls. But he purposefully drops Atreus outside of it. He forces Atreus to make the climb specifically to meet Heimdall. Then, when Heimdall brings Atreus in to kill him, Odin steps in and 'saves' the boy from the situation. The situation Odin himself put Atreus in.
