I'm so fr the iud was probably the most painful experience I've ever had and I got it to relieve cramps..... not talking about the insertion. Yes the insertion sucked and I was in pain for days after but I genuinely feared it had perforated the uterine wall a few weeks later. It was so scary. 7 weeks of hell, constantly fearing the pain and that it'd happen again. Genuinely a medical trauma. The midwife clinic in my town doesn't even have an ultrasound so they had no way to check if it was even placed correctly. Nearest gynecologist clinic is 70km away and it takes over 6 months to see a doc there (even tho we have a "guarantee" in my country you should be able to see a doc in 3 months) so I didn't even bother. The midwives struggled to remove it too as it has moved further up and the strings were barely in reach. Hell shaped piece of plastic. Clinics should not be allowed to insert medical devices they have no way to check if they're placed correctly. I'm so angry. I'm now on the implant (nexplanon) and combined pill (dienorette) at the same time and even tho the journey has been bumpy I'm doing better now cramps wise!
