My dad collected bibles because he wanted to show me how different they could be, we used to pick out verses that had different wording and then argue what the meaning actually was. We had a KJV, or like my dad called it "the hypocrite's bible". It sounds fancy to people who have more interest in what it sounds like rather than what it says.

thank you for bringing this up. years ago i took latin and ancient greek so we translated a lot of parts of the bible. it was eye opening to see how much various versions moved away from the actual words and added in their modern take on the meaning or added in total mistranslations.

Thee/thou is the original second person singular and was used more familiarly than the more formal second person plural "you". That nuance alone means most people are missing context in the King James.
