yeah calling him a bad dad for sacrificing his life twice for his son and always being there for him against nappa,frieza and majin buu also breaking heaven rules to come helps his son against bojack which could've led to horrible consequences and abt the "he gave cell a sanzu bean" argument he gave it to him because he trusted his son and believed in him like no one else did and he had always shown how proud he is of both his sons and the only reason he trains is to become strong enough to protect his friends and family and you still have the nerve to call him a bad father

Literally the first thing that happens in dbz is Goku sacrificing himself to protect his son. Afterwards he is mostly training to again protect his son which is why he didn't come back for a year. Afterwards he again risks his life on namek for his son multiple times and again doesn't return home for a while to get stronger. In the cell saga he trains Gohan, not only because he's under the influence that Gohan likes fighting like he does, but also because he was planning to leave from the very beginning. He was the only one who believed in Gohan during the fight with Cell and immediately regretted his decision after learning that Gohan doesn't like fighting, proving that it was just a lack of knowledge on his side rather than being careless. He then makes it right by sacrificing himself and still supporting his son from the afterlife when no one else would. After Cell is defeated he refuses to be revived because he understands that he is like a magnet for danger towards his loved ones and guess what? For the entire 7 years that Goku is dead there are no threats, no danger and everything is completely peaceful for the entire 7 years he was gone. By staying dead he let his son live a carefree childhood because he understood that's what his son really wanted. And guess what happened the day he came back? That's right, buu got resurrected and almost killed everyone he loved AGAIN.
