I’m from miami. Only has 2 seasons. Hot and on fire. I live in ga now and I will say there’s a difference. Florida has the breeze from the ocean. Atlanta is landlocked. There’s nowhere for the heat to go. It’s like a big oven surrounded by trees.

The science: The humidity limits the effectiveness of perspiration, so you feel (and your body temperature can easily become) much hotter than you would if it were less humid. So the heat index or “feels like” temperature is a calculation of the dew point and temperature that takes that into account!

It was a heat index of 113° at 6 o’clock last night, my 5 yr old had her first cheer practice, they kept them in the direct sun instead of the shade 5 feet away and then the coach mocked my daughter and 2 other girls that left early bc they couldn’t handle the heat

I lived in Las Vegas at 115+ summers. Atlanta is much more uncomfortable at 95 degrees. 😏
