My ex would have waited until the middle of the night and then woke me up and raked me over the coals for HOURS. Knowing that I would have to get up super early, take care of the kids and get to work, while he could sleep the day away.

Thank you for sharing this series. It's so healing.
My ex wanted crab boil...he wanted to PICK UP crab boil. The restaurant wrapped it plastic, but its boiling hot liquid. He pulls out of the parking lot and gets up to 40 to then immediately hit his breaks at a red light. The boiling liquid goes all over my exposed legs. I yelped and tightly shut my thighs together to try to hold the liquid off his car seats. Didn't work, of course. He was livid at ME for not better protecting his seats. It was coming home a WONDERFUL date, the first one we had been on in a year. When we got home, I immediately spent 4 hours detailing his car and got every spot and smell out, just for him to continue to put holes in walls, throw away everything we got on our date, and give me the silent treatment for a WEEK. I had blisters covering my thighs from the hot liquid. 👍 That was abuse.

Oh my.gosh this sounds like something my father would’ve done, but he would’ve stayed and made snarky passive aggtessuve comments veiled as jokes. And then yelled at me in the car later

This is so hard to watch. I am so happy you made it out. This is a personal question: are you blind in one eye?

my ex had back issues, and whenever a chair wasn't comfortable for her it was *my* fault somehow

And I know that sinking feeling in your gut when this happens, you try and make it right but when you can’t you just know it’ll be bad silent treatment for days

it does not matter how long it takes to leave, all the matters is that YOU GOT OUT. your comments always has survivors, and it makes me so relieved

One time I ordered the wrong sub. I was at work, had worked over in a meeting, my daughter (not his) had her play that night. He messaged me asking about whether or not I ordered. Then he claimed I forgot him. When in reality I just was overwhelmed and made a mistake but he who didn’t have a job— had the audacity to create a fight out of it on my daughters opening night

Where do men get this kind of audacity to think their desires and feelings are the only thing that matters in the entire world?

Oh my, so relatable! My grandmother passed and we went to a lunch and he walked in and said there are no chairs! Walked out, I went chasing while he walked to his mother’s home in winter!
