I always wonder who is going around calling Texas affordable still. Its not in the top 10 for sure. I would never call it affordable

Maybe that is part of the reason that rent is high. Hmmm.

So let me get this right: You expect to pay little to nothing for homeowners insurance, but if a water main bursts and causes a $40,000 repair, you expect the insurance company to come in and fix and replumb your entire house? From a business standpoint, how is that supposed to be plausible? You can’t expect a company to cover tens of thousands of dollars in repairs while paying the bare minimum in premiums.
And if politics and affordability are such a huge issue, why wasn’t this fixed during Biden’s administration? Why was nothing set in stone during Obama’s eight years in office? The ACA may have helped some people, but it also significantly changed the healthcare insurance market and increased costs and complexity for many others. At some point, we have to stop pretending these problems started with one president or one political party and actually look at the bigger picture.

Take a look around your neighborhood at all of houses getting new roofs from wind and hail damage. Where do you think those new $30k roofs are coming from? Hint, it’s from your insurance dollars.

considering most home loans will end up costing you over a million at least by the end of your mortgage, another 105k to insure that isn't bad at all comparing to car or health insurance

meanwhile, my bosses daughter moved to California with her husband living an 1800 square-foot house that cost them $1.3 million. I have a 2400 square-foot house on 8 acres for 435,000. I saw a lot in California that was .17 acres going for $248,000. so ya Texas is way affordable.

So a little over 1 % of the average home in Texas . But you have no problem paying 80 dollars for the right to drive a 30k car at best . It’s obvious why democrats are looking for hand outs . They don’t seem to understand finances or budgets
