I’m on my 3 time trying to make a starter. Keeping it in the oven between 77-80 discarding half and feeding each day. I’ve started 2 this time one wheat bread flour and one just all purpose bread flour. Wheat 2 tablespoons of flour and 1 tablespoon of water thick each day. It’s thick and doing nothing. The other one 1/2 cup flour and 1/4 cup of water. Discarding half. Has only a couple bubbles. They stay thick in 24 hours they are still thick. What do I need to do.

Help!!!! I use 4ozs unbleached flour, 4ozs spring water, 90 degrees heated because my Sour Dough book says to! I usually see bubbles in a few days, is my problem a weak starter. I have never had my bread dough look thick, it is usually very wet & not able to form! I am getting frustrated, never had a recipe drive me crazy. I am 74 & baked & cooked at an early age!
