I’m so so glad my mum pushed me to do engineering. She helped me get my adhd diagnosis as a teen failing secondary very early on, it massively helped my grades. She took me to tuition, to therapy and anything I needed which was kinda wild for an African mum. I’m now 30 and retired her 2 years ago.

I picked tech. I graduated got the full time job, and I genuinely hate it. so this can work for some ppl but definitely not all. I was told to follow the money not passion.

Yes I just switched from education/health care to Supply Chain Management/Procurement. I’ve been broke for passion and to love my job. Now I don’t care about passion. I want money. I’ll be passionate about the life I can afford now.

I started a job as a cloud engineer this year and my employer literally told me that before I applied, he figured he’d never find anyone and he was considering outsourcing😅 meanwhile I doubted if I had the qualifications to even bother applying lol

Don't, and I repeat DON'T end up in Marketing or Design role. The pay is mid and everybody is always in your business, stating they know something better just because things can look better from their perspective. It's soul crushing and you'll burn out if you stay in one place longer than 1 year 💀💀
