SAVE THIS VIDEO for your next trip to Zion National Park! 🥾🏜️ If the Emerald Pools are on your Zion list, there are a couple different ways to do this hike, and we chose the longer one. 🚗 Park entrance: $35 per vehicle and your pass is good for 7 days. 🚌 Getting around: During shuttle season, personal vehicles aren’t allowed on Zion Canyon Scenic Drive. Park at the Visitor Center at Stop #1 if there’s space and take the free Zion Canyon shuttle. Shuttles generally arrive every 5–10 minutes. 🥾 The hike: Most people get off at Stop #5, Zion Lodge, for the shorter and more direct route to Emerald Pools. We chose to get off at Stop #4, Court of the Patriarchs, and take the longer route along the canyon and Virgin River before connecting into the Emerald Pools trail system. Our route was roughly 4.5–5 miles, taking us through the Lower, Middle and Upper Emerald Pools. I’d allow around 3 hours, especially if you want time for pictures and stops along the way. I’d consider this a moderate hike. There are stairs, uneven rocks and a decent amount of climbing as you make your way toward Upper Emerald Pool. I actually found the elevation on this hike more physically challenging than I expected. 💧 One thing to know: The waterfalls are seasonal. We visited in August and they were barely trickling, but the canyon views and hike itself still made it completely worth doing. 👟 Bring good shoes, plenty of water and give yourself extra time in the summer heat. And remember, you don’t necessarily have to retrace the exact same route back. The trails connect through this area, giving you several options for getting back to the shuttle. Save this for your Zion trip and send it to whoever you’d hike this with! Be sure to like and follow, because you never know where we’ll take you next. #TakeUsWithYouOfficial #TheReviewRoom
