I think either a slightly smaller rod or maybe adding one more to the top section. BUT what helps mine look the best is to dampen my hair (LIGHTLY, i find it can make my scalp oily if I do too much. Like damp if you were walking from the car to the door in a light drizzle) with a spray bottle and add some oil if my hair is freshly washed I like using a leave in conditioner instead.
