@globetrotting.heels: “How clean is China really?” As a solo female traveller, I spend a lot of time walking around cities, taking public transport, exploring side streets, and generally paying attention to my surroundings. And throughout my trip, I was consistently impressed by how clean everything felt in China. The streets were spotless, public spaces were well-maintained, and even in some of the busiest tourist areas, I rarely came across overflowing bins or litter scattered around. Public toilets, train stations, parks, shopping districts, and even many local neighbourhoods were kept to an incredibly high standard. What surprised me most was the scale of it. China has some of the largest cities in the world, with populations bigger than entire countries, yet the level of cleanliness was something I would normally expect from much smaller places. Of course, no destination is perfect, but cleanliness was one of those things that kept standing out throughout my trip. Before visiting China, I expected amazing food, incredible technology, and stunning landscapes. I visited India recently and witnessed the cleanest streets I had ever seen. this was inside a business campus and directly outside there was a stark difference.

This is because China felt really embarrassed after being clobbered by Japan in WWII, and has been trying desperately trying to catch up. China was not this clean 20 years ago.

Both china and india starting point almost same, after japan invaded china destroyed the country and people, after uk colonialed india destroyed the country but classified the people (or right?). But china think japan did wrong, india somehow donot think the same way to uk

China has been followed Singapore model to beautifying n cleansing their provinces n cities…..China was not like that before Deng visited Singapore…..after that visit they sent thousands of its official to study n learnt from Singapore……
