@mattkelderman: This was one of the stranger closing situations I’ve had in a while. My clients were selling their condo and buying another home. Their buyer was also selling his home, so we had four transactions basically stacked on top of each other. Then the lender at the beginning of the chain accidentally wired the funds to the wrong title company. Not the wrong account. The wrong title company entirely. The money was recovered, but by then we were headed into the weekend. Everyone had signed, my clients had movers scheduled for Saturday and technically they still didn’t own the house they were moving into. Thankfully the seller and agent on their purchase worked with us and we got them moved in while everyone waited for the banking system to catch up. Everything finally funded today. Four closings.
