We kind of have the same thing happen. We have high spend months and we’re like 🥴, but then we realize it was a large purchase we had planned for and saved for. We put everything on a credit card and just always have it overpaid so our statement is $0. It’s just for the rewards and because most rental car companies require a credit card (found out the hard way). Those big purchases always hurt even when you’ve saved for them 😬. We have a very interesting way of tracking but I’m thinking more about a formal system like you have because we have a lot of reimbursement charges now for work. Any advice on that? Would you get a separate card or just used a spreadsheet?
