Saw once a YouTube video where duo survived and built a huge hqm base just from those road piles and let me explain. They played on rustoria servers with huge online and both had 15k+ hours so they won most of the PvP fights. But their strategy was that they lived in jungle, near a lot of roads and made a simple farm to get pure scrap tea and bear pies. Due to the lower player amounts in jungle and high general online that makes those piles respawn like every 5 minutes, they made 19-20 scrap from each barrel or around 2k scrap in half an hour EACH. Then used this scrap along with armored car to buy everything from the traveling merchant and recycle for hqm. True, you need a high online, high road density, low number of players in your area and access to water but it’s still a solid strategy ngl
