Neither option works when it is really bad. I had a car that was smoked in two months ago. Ran Ozone for a few days, two chlorine bombs, three odor bombs, changed cabin filter, complete detail with shampoo on the seats and roof. Cleaned every surface multiple times. Several trips later and the car has a combination of smoke with scents that is not great still.
