@pointedbyjared: If you have a Chase Sapphire Preferred and an Amex Green, Gold, or Platinum card, you can get 13x points on your next vacation rental if you book it today. Here's how. Vrbo is on Rakuten right now at an elevated rate. Rakuten is a cash back platform. You start your purchase through their portal at stores you already use and earn a percentage back in cash. Expedia, Macy's, Nike, the list goes on. Today only, 8/17/26, Vrbo is at 10% on Chicago, Miami, and Nashville. Every other city is 6%. But if you have an Amex, don't take the cash. Link your Amex Green, Gold, or Platinum to Rakuten and switch your payout from cash back to points. Every percent becomes a point. 10% turns into 10x Membership Rewards. But it gets even better. That Amex only needs to be linked to your account. It is not the card you pay with. So click through Rakuten, then check out with the Sapphire Preferred, which earns 3x on vacation rentals. Vrbo counts. Amex points from the portal, Chase points from the card, same booking. A $2,000 Nashville rental: ✅ 10x Rakuten = 20,000 Membership Rewards points ✅ 3x Sapphire Preferred = 6,000 Ultimate Rewards points 26,000 points on a long weekend. That's your 13x, in two balances with two sets of transfer partners. Outside those three cities you're at 9x, so 12,000 and 6,000. Exclusions: bookings under $20, listing renewals, and refer a friend codes starting with RAF. Only worth it on a trip you were already booking. Rakuten first, then pay with the Sapphire Preferred. The 10% ends tonight. That's the stack. New to Rakuten? Sign up through the link in my bio and get 5,000 bonus points just for joining. Drop any questions in the comments and I'll answer them.
