I graduate from Columbia with a MS in urban design and architecture and still looking for a job since May. Thinking that I would have found something by now but after 7 interviews and more than 150+ applications im still waiting for the right company and the offer letter🤞🏻. Keep going we are not alone!

I graduated from Harvard undergrad and I’d say, on the whole, while I deeply appreciate the experience, it has often hampered rather than helped. The thing they often don’t tell you is that if you’re not the preferred archetype that aligns with people’s image/expectation of what Harvard is, it’s tough and people assign characteristics to you that are outside of your control. Speak well? You think you’re better. Talk about accomplishments? Showing off. There are many jobs I applied to where Harvard severely changed the dialogue even though I made sure to never mention it other than listing it on my resume wayyyyy at the bottom.

700 of us were laid off last year from a global beauty company. Unemployment benefits ran out in December so it's literally me and my paintings/prints against the world since the market is so brutal 😩

Apply for a job at a consulting firm. The vast majority of Ivy League graduates out side the fields of academia or research Wind up there getting hired by those types of companies. And the reality is most companies don’t like hiring Ivy League graduates. Because generally they come with an ego, entitlement , and expecting higher pay because they went to an Ivy league school. A large portion of my customers. works high up in corporations and have all told me that.

These High rated school like Ivy League are not meant solely only to learn. Actually networking and joint to exclusive communities will give you acces not only high paying jobs but capital to start your own company. I’m suprised you don’t cultivate it
