there is no way they arent hearing the voices. Big Groups like BTS have staff specifically to track their public opinion and track trends and feed them all relevant information. they might not check their comments but their staff definitely do. any big group watches public reactions.

I also think they want to clean up the fandom; however, I believe it’s more about shifting toward a tougher, more masculine audience, one into rap and hip-hop. I think they want to distance themselves from the family-oriented, female, and wholesome fanbase to move toward a "bad boy" image. I feel they find the current fanbase, us, infantilizing and limiting; they no longer want fangirls, but rather fanboys. The truth is, established male hip-hop artists tend to have male audiences. Personally, I love the new artistic direction, but I hate the huge step backward they’ve taken regarding human rights and the connection they once had with their fans, who are predominantly women. Yes, I think they are ashamed of us.

the problem is- sooooo many older ARMY is leaving the fandom. Like, ARMY thats been here for a decade + AND ARMY thats 35+ in age. And those are the spenders. Like, the BIG spenders. Im 41, been an ARMY since WINGS 2016. I spent $10k on the MOTS tour. Soundtrack at 9 different stops across the globe. I owned EVERY. SINGLE. PC. via resell (spending $200 on ONE PC before). Ive seen the tannies on 3 different continents in 7 different countries. Thats a financial investment that a lot of newer and younger ARMY just dont have. They need to be careful at who's leaving and who's staying.

I feel like these things have a short time frame where people are open to forgiveness and then once it's passed it's too little, too late. Honestly, if they apologized tomorrow, would anyone find it genuine? Would it change anything for you?

they want the type of super fans who are willing to go to extreme lengths to stream their music, buy their albums, vote for their nominations, protect and defend them, excuse any controversial behaviour and infiltrate other fandoms to run smear campaigns. that seems to be the tactic
