Yeah. You’re not allowed to smile when you get your passport or drivers license. The same thing with the states, the uk, France, spain, Portugal, Mexico, Greece and 40 other countries. It’s a universal known.

I suspect your lipstick makes you look like you are smiling. my canadian photo has a slight smile and it was never rejected.

You have a slight uptick on your left side in the photo with the purple jacket. Facial recognition needs as much neutrality as possible. The no smiling has been in place for years. It’s not that deep of an issue. You look great in the second photo as well.

OK, that doesn’t make sense because when you handed them your picture to renew or to get your passport, it obviously passed so that should’ve been allowed.

You’ve always no matter the country had to have a neutral expression. When I was taking the passport photos at sears people hated that I couldn’t let them smile because they want you to look like you would while stuck in an airport or train station and you’re late or delayed and stressed or stuck in a never ending line. You’re not happy to be there. This isn’t a glam shot, headshot, profile picture. It’s for security and nobody’s happy to see security coming at you.

I was told they don't want you smiling because when you get pulled over and have to produce your license you won't be smiling then so harder to determine its you 🤣

Yup, sounds like our government photos alright. U should see my government id card . I may be old but I am not dead yet. That photo doesn’t look anything like me but I guess they are happy. Apparently that is all that matters.
