@midnightforeswift: Jingjing had been watching Jan for the past ten minutes. She hated that she was. Jan was laughing with another girl near the bar, head tilted back, looking entirely too comfortable. Jingjing looked away. Then looked again. “Having fun?” Jan suddenly appeared beside her. Jingjing took a sip of her drink. “Obviously.” “You've been glaring at me.” “I wasn't.” “You were.” “Maybe your friend was annoying me.” Jan's eyebrow lifted. “My friend?” “The pretty one.” “Oh.” That little smile appeared. Jingjing immediately regretted saying anything. “What?” she asked. “Nothing.” “Jan.” “You're jealous.” “I am not.” Jan stepped closer. “Then look at me.” Jingjing did. That was her mistake. Jan was already watching her, amusement slowly disappearing from her expression. “See?” Jan murmured. “You can't even lie properly.” Jingjing swallowed. “You're enjoying this.” “A lot.” Jan moved even closer until Jingjing had to tilt her head up. “Tell me to move.” Jingjing's fingers curled around the edge of Jan's sleeve. “Move.” Jan didn't. Jingjing looked at her lips. Jan noticed. “That's not very convincing.” “Shut up.” “Make me.” Jingjing grabbed her collar and kissed her. Jan froze for half a second. Then her hand settled carefully at Jingjing's waist, pulling her closer. The kiss deepened, slow and deliberate, until Jingjing forgot about the girl at the bar entirely. When they finally separated, Jan's forehead rested against hers. “Still jealous?” Jingjing was breathing a little harder. “Maybe.” Jan smiled. “Good.” Jingjing narrowed her eyes. “Why are you happy about that?” “Because you finally showed me you care.” “I cared before.” “You hid it.” “I have dignity.” Jan laughed softly. “You're adorable when you're jealous.” “Say that again.” “Adorable.” Jingjing pushed her back against the wall. Jan's smile disappeared. “Still adorable?” Jingjing whispered. Jan looked at her for a long second. “Definitely.” Jingjing leaned in, stopping just before their lips touched. “Then maybe I should make you regret teasing me.” Jan's hand tightened slightly around her waist. “I'm waiting.” Jingjing kissed her again. This time, Jan was the one who lost her composure. When they broke apart, Jan looked at her with a breathless smile. “Okay.” “What?” “I take it back.” “Take what back?” “You're not adorable.” Jingjing smiled. “Better.” Jan brushed her thumb over Jingjing's cheek. “You're dangerous.” “And yet you're still here.” “Yeah.” Jan leaned closer, her voice dropping to a whisper. “I'm starting to think I don't want to be anywhere else.”
