alan wasn't a traditional green lantern, al got his powers from an actual green lantern that he found in China (I think) and doesnt really have any connection to the lantern Corps other than his name, Hal has always been earths first lantern Corps member chosen by a power ring to serve the guardians and protect earth and its surrounding sector

We can still get Alan, he’s not connected to the green lantern corp, he just has somewhat similar powers and the same name. His powers come from a meteor that was forged into a train lantern and a ring. He’s respected as an honorary green lantern but isn’t recognized as earth’s first lantern

What they mean is that Hal is the first offical Green Lantern Corp member from Earth. Although Allen's power is related to the Guardians, he has never been an offical member.

common mistake. Alan gets his powers from a different Silver Age source than Hal, John and rest of Corps. I wish DC got a proper adaption of how its multiverse is built because they moved all those Silver Age heroes to their own Earth.

The source of that information is directly stated to be from Oa. As far as the lantern corps are concerned, Hal IS the first earth lantern. Alan Scott's ring is powered by magic and has nothing to do with the corps

Justice Society is often the Earth 2 counterpart of the Justice League. They aren't always the previous gen heroes in the same universe. Not surprising. And technically, Alan Scott isn't a member of the Green Lantern Corps, so Hal could still be the first Earth Green Lantern in that sense even if Alan Scott was already around.
