Resilience is an insult. We shouldn’t have to be resilient. Ilang bagyo, ilang lindol shake our country, we should be the ones to have the best disaster prevention.

"Filipino's have fun even when there's flood" yeah because the system poorly treated us to the point that we need to find how to cope with problems in our faces in order to make our country's imagine not be damaged. it's such an overlook issue that no one talks about.

it’s always “kayang bumangon muli ng mga filipino,” and never finding ways to lessen the reason kung bakit kailangan magpakatatag at palagi tayong bumangon. resiliency has become a supposedly trait that we should be proud of. to the point na we disregard the real issue — ang kabulukan ng sistema ng ating bansa. less opportunities, less karapatan, and absolutely no right paraan for so many issues! flooding cannot be helped. but there are so many ways for our lives to be easier if only the government did something! we are not even receiving bare minimum! wake up, voters!

just because we’re resilient doesn’t mean we don’t deserve better!! our families and our future children have and always will deserve better than this. and tbh it’s a slap to the face when we’re told we’re “resilient” by the same people who are happy to turn a blind eye on us and our loved ones suffering.

ang sakit sa puso ng mga nangyayari. we should stop romanticizing filipino resiliency. we deserve better, a government that truly serves its people. none of this would be this bad if our funds were used properly. we deserve transparency and accountability. hindi po tayo dapat mag settle sa kung ano lang ang meron dahil kaya naman natin. karapatan po natin ang humingi ng mas maayos na serbisyo, dahil tayong mga mamamayan ang dahilan kung bakit may nakaupo sa puwesto. tayo rin ang nagpapasweldo sa kanila. hindi ito pabor—trabaho po nila ito bilang mga lingkod-bayan.

Older generations developed resilience in an environment where enduring hardship was often necessary. Younger generations developed greater awareness and vocabulary around emotions in an environment where those conversations became more socially acceptable. Neither automatically makes one generation stronger. And importantly, awareness doesn't excuse bad behavior. A young person can be genuinely struggling and still be responsible for hurting others. Understanding the circumstances behind violence is necessary for prevention; it isn't the same thing as removing accountability
