@louiethesinger: You won’t find a single drop of ink on my body that doesn’t hold a place in my heart and/or my life. On my back I have my father, along with a lot of other things, and one of those is the Fort Worth Stockyards sign—which is maybe 5 minutes, if that, from where I grew up. I lost a lot in this city, but I’ve also gained a lot from good ol’ Funky Town. These last four years of my life have been indescribable compared to what life used to be. Getting to perform on the road is a blessing, but coming home and getting to experience that same feeling where I grew up is something I couldn’t even have prayed for. Every year I’ve been able to do something different when I come home. Shit, I even got to do Dickies Arena with Ryan Bingham. But who would’ve thought we’d be bringing a piece of country music royalty to Fort Worth? So if you didn’t know, September 10th I’m bringing John Carter Cash—the son of Johnny Cash and June Carter—to Billy Bob’s for my hometown show. His very talented wife, Ana Cristina Cash, will be performing as well, and I can’t thank them enough for supporting a vato from Fort Worth.
