@trial_trackers: The first witnesses took the stand in Duane “Keffe D” Davis’ trial for the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur, including the officer who rode with Tupac to the hospital. Garry Dale testified that when he asked Tupac who was responsible for the shooting, Tupac told him, “No, we’ll take care of it.” Eyewitness Ingrid Stokes described hearing the gunfire but said she could not identify anyone inside the white vehicle, while former homicide detective Brent Becker detailed the problems investigators faced getting witnesses to cooperate. The day ended with retired LAPD detective Fred Miller and jurors hearing part of an old interview with Davis connected to the investigation into the later killing of the Notorious B.I.G. Prosecutors allege Davis helped organize Tupac’s killing as retaliation for the beating of his nephew Orlando Anderson earlier that night. Davis has pleaded not guilty, and his defense argues the state lacks reliable evidence establishing that he participated in the shooting. #KeffeD #TrueCrime #Courtroom #Trial
