Darkheart :
I have one ISTP friend, and I’ve had two others before this, though we don’t really speak much at the moment. However, the theory that ‘ISTPs are very dry’ seems to hold true; the part I can agree with is that, from what I’ve observed, these people simply prefer to keep their answers short and to the point. But because most people express their affection by embellishing their sentences, these simple, brief replies can lead some people to misinterpret them. I’m an ENTP, so I’m not sure if my MBTI is actually that important in this situation, but to me, the answers they give seem perfectly normal. Let me explain it a bit more clearly:
Let’s say I’ve made a friend who’s very energetic – they’re always talking non-stop and exaggerating their sentences and so on. I’d perceive this person as normally being like that; if they behaved any differently, I’d think something was wrong.
The same applies here: I’ve met someone who always gives simple, straightforward answers. I’d take that as their true nature.
Actually, as long as they share my views, I don’t really mind how they speak; they might agree with me completely, but perhaps they’re a quiet sort – well, I don’t mind. Ultimately, I like the work they do. That’s just the way they express their feelings.
