Way to strawman the argument. No one’s saying that’s what the brand itself means. It’s someone with the brand. Guts or anyone living in Berserk with a brand of sacrifice SHOULD BE DEAD. But they’re not. They persevered.

respectfully, this take is too shallow to drown an ant. The brand is in itself an evil thing, yes, but that symbol being worn by someone still walking, talking, licking and kicking, is a sign of determination and perseverance, as happened to guts. Without the mark he would've been a fantastic merc with a tragic backstory and a slab for a sword. With the mark, he's all that plus the addition of surviving the Eclipse through pure physical endurance and determination, which is why people do not see the mark itself as a symbol, but the act of carrying it.

I don't think you're right on this one bud, like yeah it is a symbol of pain, misery, sacrifice and selfishness, in the lore of berserk. It is also the main logo for Berserk, which has a huge focus on perseverance and determination as part of it's story and theming, 2 things can be true at the same time

this is a dumb analogy. I'm not religious myself but people get the cross tattooed all the time because of its symbolic meaning. they don't get it because it means that they are going to be put on a cross and nailed to it.

The individual with the brand represents never giving up no matter the circumstances. There def are larpers of berserk but this argument specifically falls flat
