This honestly made my heart hurt for you in the best and worst way. Night weaning is HARD, being pregnant while doing it is a whole different level of exhausted, and watching you keep comforting that baby over and over when you’re probably running on absolutely nothing… mama, I see you. But I also have to give Dad his flowers because watching this was such a beautiful example of what parenting is supposed to look like. Not “helping Mom” but actually parenting. Waking up, rocking the baby, patting them back to sleep, taking over so you could sleep, trading off when one of you was exhausted. There were so many moments where he clearly saw what you needed without you having to beg for it and just stepped in. You can see how loved that baby is from BOTH sides of that bed. And with another little one on the way, I hope you know that even though you probably feel like a walking zombie right now, you guys are doing an incredible job. This was exhausting just to WATCH 😂 but also one of the sweetest examples of being a team I’ve seen in a long time. ❤️

People that don’t co sleep & EBF their babies will never understand. It’s hard to wean. It’s all about comfort. Breastfed babies are much lighter sleepers too.

11 months into EBF and cosleeping. I am terrified of the day I have to start weaning her. She wakes up and immediately looks for my boob for comfort 😅😅😅

i’m not sure how young your child is but what helped us personally was her own bed in her own room, we would read her a book, warm milk and lay beside the bed, cool that worked . then it was reading a book farther and father away until my back was against the door, *another thing that helps is a bed with rails/crib* don’t immediately give attention or go into room as soon as they start crying, wait maybe 5-10 minutes that way they learn that crying isn’t the way to get mom or dad. yes it sounds cruel but as kids grow they learn everytime they cry mom or dad will come in and comfort them and as they get smarter and sneakier they will use that to keep from going to bed *mind you kids aren’t supposed to want to sleep they have fomo* lol. so back to what i was saying, now i’ll read a book if it’s light enough to see the book without a light on, if not i’ll sit close to the bed or by the wall and wait maybe 10-15 minutes and walk out, it’s all about routine, atleast that’s what helped us and we went from going to plop her in her bed walking out and her falling asleep to months later her waking up 8-9 times a night screaming, now i can just wait a few minutes and walk out and she’s fine and sleeps throughout the night and if she does wake up it’s between 8:30 and 10 and me and the mother are still awake at that time, it sucks but fighting sleep/ sleep regressions are real and the only way to solve things like this is strictly routine and showing them they don’t get what they want by simply just crying. kids are alot smarter than most people think but there very “gullible” if you will, i know what its like to work 40-70 hours a week and be up every hour of the night, prayers for you and hope this helps

Wow… I have two kids and never realized this was a thing 😳. My kids just started sleeping through the night on their own as the got older. By 6-7 months … they slept from 9pm-4/5 am. I never woke them to eat. Sleep was too valuable to me 😩

Those first few nights of weaning are the hardest, especially when your pregnant.

Having a full tummy at night is key for me. In my culture that is super helpful when weaning babies. I do that with mine and worked very good. Some milk cereal or something like bread or bagels ! Something that will feed them so they don’t have the urge to feed on mom :)

1 month with no sleep and still trying to get back a new night time routine. It did easier but I still have a ways to go. Sending hugs it can be emotionally draining/saddening for both you and baby.
